Snapchef Steps Up to the Plate with Nuestra, Boston's Small Business Culinary Incubator

Boston, MA (PRWeb) March 6, 2007 -- Snapchef has built a reputation for supplying quality skilled culinary help to five star hotels, convention centers and contract caterers including Sodexho, Unidine and Aramark. Their secret: they hire from the community and give on-the-job training. This investment in people is generating support from local, State and Federal Government Agencies and from clients that appreciate motivated and trained workers.

Todd Snopkowski, Owner & Founder of Snapchef, said, "Snapchef gets support from The City of Boston and The Commonwealth of Massachusetts in its training initiatives. Nuestra Culinary Ventures Small Business Incubator draws support from the same circles."

The Snapchef "Earn and Learn" Program has been recognized by MA Workforce Development DAT and provided Snapchef with their first training grant in a non traditional program covering culinary arts, event management, sanitation certification classes & more.

Ted Nypaver, Nuestra Program Director, points out that, after Mayor Thomas M. Menino urged other private businesses to collectively contribute, Snapchef stepped up to the plate. Offering their expertise... Culinary Training and Staffing our Culinary Entrepreneurs need to succeed. Snapchef is offering support to the NCV businesses by supplying temporary trained and skilled workers when needed at discounted rates.

Nuestra Culinary Ventures (NCV), a Boston commercial kitchen managed by Nuestra Comunidad Development Corporation. NCV helps aspiring culinary entrepreneurs realize their dreams of owning a food business. We are a shared use commercial kitchen, home to 52 businesses and licensed as a catering commissary by the Health Department of Boston.
This is in line with Snapchef's philosophy of generating work through creative community based programs.

The Snapchef initiatives are mostly needs based for people looking to gain an economic foothold. Their apprentice program has helped people that have had chronic unemployment as well as trouble with the law. Snapchef's on-the-job earn & learn appeals because people see a paycheck and know they are improving their worth in the market place as well as their self worth. Too many culinary training centers supply classroom work and no job ever materializes.

Snopkowski points out, "At Snapchef, we are all about building relationships that have a win-win for all concerned. We let that guide how we work with employees, clients and community groups. Most of our partnerships come from word of mouth. When it comes to helping get a process on track or getting someone's life back on track, the word is 'go talk to the people at Snapchef.' I'm very proud of how much we do for the community simply by applying our simple results-based approach to everything and everyone we get involved with."

Ted, Nuestra's Director, adds, "Thanks to Snapchef and their stepping up in 2007 NCV will be offering more technical assistance and training than the prior years combined history. It's not easy for someone to take the leap and make a commitment to begin a culinary venture. Snapchef's contributions to the NCV program will definitely give way to each businesses road to success.
